Q. WHAT GERMS DOES THE SAFESPACE® GERM FOGGER KILL?

Q. IS IT NECESSARY TO TURN MY PILOT LIGHT OFF BEFORE TREATING A SPACE WITH THE SAFESPACE GERM FOGGER?
A. No. It is recommended not to place the SafeSpace Germ Fogger directly next to the pilot light. Instead place the Germ Fogger in the center of the room or as far from the pilot light as possible and close the closet door where the pilot light is located.
Q. WHAT SIZE ROOM/AREA WILL A SINGLE 6-OUNCE, SAFESPACE® GERM FOGGER TREAT?
A. The SafeSpace® Germ Fogger will produce enough aerosol to fill 6,000 cubic ft. (cubic ft. is the volume of a space, not the square footage). This is equal to approximately a room/space 23 ft. long by 23 ft. wide with a 11 ft. high ceiling (Approximately the size of an average hotel room).
Q. WHY DO I NEED TO SET THE SAFESPACE® GERM FOGGER ON LARGE SHEETS OF NEWSPAPER WHEN TREATING?
A. Placing the Germ Fogger on a few large sheets of newspaper during treatment will catch any over spray that may possibly fall directly around the can.
Q. IS IT NECESSARY TO WIPE DOWN A SPACE AFTER USING THE SAFESPACE® GERM FOGGER?
A. No. Please follow the directions on the can carefully. Simply place the can on a few large sheets of newspaper, press the actuator and leave the space. The Germ Fogger contents will dry within 1-2 hours after being released from the can.
Q. HOW LONG DOES A SAFESPACE® GERM FOGGER TREATMENT LAST?
A. The treated area continues to stay disinfected until new germs are re-introduced into the space. This time frame can vary depending on how long an area is undisturbed.
Q. HOW OFTEN SHOULD I USE THE SAFESPACE® GERM FOGGER?
A. This amount of time can vary between different environments depending on the re-exposure rate. For high traffic areas that are re-exposed to germs often, daily to weekly treatments are recommended. For areas of low traffic, weekly to monthly treatments are recommended.
Q. IS THE SAFESPACE® GERM FOGGERS PET SAFE?
A. Yes! The SafeSpace® Germ Fogger may be used in almost any space as long as you follow the can label EXACTLY. As with humans, animals (and their food) should NEVER be exposed directly to or enclosed with, the released areosol disinfectant. The SafeSpace® Germ Fogger should NEVER be used on, or directed at any person or animal under ANY circumstance. Read the product label completely and follow the directions carefully before using the product.
Q. WILL THE GERM FOGGER DAMAGE HOUSE PLANTS?
A. No. But if you have any concerns we recommend placing a sheet over the plants or removing them from the space during treatment.
Q. DO THE GERM FOGGER CONTENTS EFFECT PAINT OR WALLPAPER?
A. No. Make sure not to place the Germ Fogger can directly next to or at a wall.
Q. WILL THE GERM FOGGER DAMAGE OR EFFECT FURNITURE?
A. No. We recommend not to place the Germ Fogger can directly next to or at your furniture. If you have any concerns we recommend placing an old sheet over your furniture during treatment.
Q. WILL THE GERM FOGGER ELIMINATE MUSTY ODORS?
A. Yes. When combined with a moisture reducing product such as Damprid or by using a de-humidifier.
Q. DO SAFESPACE® GERM FOGGERS CONTROL MOLD?
A. The best tip for controlling mold or mildew is to never let it get a toe hold. If you have mold or mildew, it will take a more specialized treatment than SafeSpace® to kill it. But, if you are still mold and mildew free and want to stay that way, a combination of normal cleaning, good air circulation and regular use of SafeSpace® Germ Foggers can help keep mold away.
Q. WILL MY ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT BE HARMED IF LEFT OUT DURING TREATMENT?
A. No. SafeSpace encourages electronic equipment be left out so it can be disinfected. The Germ Fogger is able to reach into tight spaces such as between computer keyboard keys and telephone keys that other cleaners are unable to reach. Make sure not to set the Germ Fogger off directly under fire or alarm sensors.
Q. CAN I SAFELY BREATHE IN THE SAFESPACE® DISINFECTANT FOG?
A. The Germ Fogger contents are not harmful to humans and pets if inhaled in small amounts. It is recommended to remove yourself and any pets and children from the space before treating.
Q. WHY IS IT BETTER TO TURN OFF THE HEATER/AC/FAN BEFORE USING A SAFESPACE® GERM FOGGER?
A. The effectiveness of the SafeSpace® Germ Fogger is based heavily on the aerosol effectively treating the airspace without hindrance by air movement or physical obstructions. Any movement or recirculation of room air or large obstructions within the room/space can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. Hence, the more open and unobstructed a room/space the more effective the SafeSpace® treatment. Read the SafeSpace® can label completely and follow the directions carefully before using the product.
Q. WILL THE SAFESPACE® GERM FOGGER SET OFF MY SMOKE OR SECURITY ALARM?
A. Any spray, mist, candle or incense placed/used too close to a smoke detector/sensor, (within 6 ft.) may cause an accidental activation. It is recommended to simply place the Germ Fogger 6 ft. from any sensor to avoid accidental activation.
Q. DOES THE SAFESPACE® GERM FOGGER REPLACE NORMAL CLEANING?
A. No. The SafeSpace® Germ Fogger is the final step to your normal cleaning routine. It is still recommended to continue your normal cleaning routine and use the germ fogger as the finish.
Q. CAN I PACK AND TAKE A SAFESPACE® GERM FOGGER ON AN AIRPLANE WHEN I TRAVEL?
A. The SafeSpace® Germ Fogger is a commercial aerosol product just like many common deodorants, colognes, air fresheners and hair sprays currently on the market, and can be carried in your checked luggage (not carry on luggage). Before traveling via air, SafeSpace® recommends checking with the U.S. Transportation Safety Administration to determine which materials are currently allowed on commercial flights. If you are unsure about packing the Germ Fogger in your checked luggage, SafeSpace® can ship the fogger to your hotel/residence prior to your departure. The Germ Foggers will be waiting for you upon your arrival.

Q. WHAT SMELLS DOES THE SAFESPACE® GERM FOGGER ELIMINATE?
A. Rather than masking the odor as many deodorizers and fresheners do, the SafeSpace Germ Fogger kills the bacteria that create the odor. These odors can range from pet, smoke, food, dead animal and musty smells. The SafeSpace® Germ Fogger leaves a clean, fresh scent after treatment.
Q. CAN THE SAFESPACE® GERM FOGGER PREVENT COLD & FLU?
A. Yes. The SafeSpace® Germ Fogger has been proven to kill the germs that cause cold and flu. Combining the regular use of the SafeSpace® Germ Fogger, a regular cleaning and hand washing routine can also help in the prevention of these viruses. Q. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A DISINFECTANT FOGGER, ARE SAFESPACE® CLEANING PRODUCTS NEW?
A. SafeSpace® Company and its disinfectant products are fairly new which may be why you haven’t yet heard of us. Check our story in the “About Us” section of our website.
Q. IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SAFESPACE® GERM FOGGER AND A BUG BOMB?
A. Though they may appear similar, they are two very different products with two very different uses. The SafeSpace® Germ Fogger uses a hospital grade, contact disinfectant that is formulated specifically to kill “germs” (virus, bacteria, etc.). Whereas a bug bomb uses an insecticide to kill insect and pests (roaches, ants, flys, etc.). Though both aerosol products are designed to release an engulfing and penetrating “fog,” the products are completely different.
Q. WHY AM I RECEIVING AN ERROR MESSAGE AT CHECKOUT?
A. The error message you are receiving at checkout is appearing due to an AVS mismatch. This means that the billing name or billing address does not match the information exactly on the bank statement associated with that card.
Some examples of a mismatch include: a misspelling, name initial included or excluded, spelling out a word that was supposed to be abbreviated or spelled out completely but was abbreviated, not including a period or including a period when it was not needed ect. Please ensure the information is correct when attempting to order again.
