Who is the SafeSpace® Company?
SafeSpace® Company is a Internet based, Limited Liability Company (LLC) Organized in Missouri by Rick Williams in 2005,
with operations based in Springfield, Missouri. Rick Williams is a native Texan, veteran Army Green Beret Medic,
degreed as a Health Care Administrator, with 30 plus years of health care management/business experience in hospital and hospice care.
In the early 70's, Rick experienced first-hand the effects of an institutionally acquired staph infection, during kidney donation
surgery for his sister in a "brand new" surgical facility. Since then and after extensive travel and work in the health care industry
and has studied the many risks and high costs associated with exposure to infectious diseases in health facilities, office environments
and traveling.
What is the SafeSpace® Company?
Since that original staph infection and subsequent illnesses related to travel and the work place, Rick has informally studied disease
transmission vectors and infection chains. He learned that regardless of how many persons, time, or cleaners were applied to "hand"
cleaning and disinfecting a space, just a few overlooked spots contaminated with bacteria, would make all the effort and expense useless.
Obviously, every surface needed to be treated with disinfectant, and it was going to take something more than people and time to increase
the effectiveness of standard disinfecting practices. So after many years of study, research, and engineering, an easy-to-use, low-cost
and effective Disinfectant and Deodorizing Fogger was finally created to aide with the task.
Having years of experience in healthcare where hand cleaning is paramount, Rick was also exposed to many hand sanitizers and their effects.
Based on this experience, his goal was to create a hand sanitizer that not only sanitized the skin, but would be pleasant to use numerous
times during the day. So instead of using skin drying alcohol as the primary sanitizing agent, a small but effective amount of proven
Benzethonium Chloride USP (0.002%) in water was chosen as the primary sanitizing agent. Then, a small amount of water soluable emollient
(lotion) was added to keep the skin soft and healthy. SafeSpace® Instant Hand Sanitizer was created.
Rick and his clinical associates continue to study how people live, travel, interact and spread diseases and applies those combined insights
to developing new and innovative products for the SafeSpace® Company.
Disinfectants and Sanitizers...What's the Difference?
On the Internet, Wikipedia® defines
as antimicrobial agents that are applied to non-living objects to
destroy microorganisms, the process of which is known as disinfection.
Wikipedia goes on to clarify the main difference between a sanitizer and a disinfectant is that at a
specified use dilution, the disinfectant must have a higher kill capability for pathogenic
bacteria compared to that of a sanitizer. The SafeSpace® - Disinfectant & Deodorizing Fogger is a new dual purpose aerosol product
that can; 1) disinfect hard surfaces just like any other disinfectant product, 2) disperse a fog of hospital grade, disinfectant into the
airspace of a room to eliminate bacteria related odors AND kill germs on the surfaces it settles on.
